Bumblefoot Question (Photos)

Don't make the hole too big.....ours could be smaller because he kept trying to get out the hole so we had to keep our hand laying on it.
The periscope visual made me laugh...take pictures for us!! :gig
I’ll try and get some :gig spa day!

@hayley3 well...this may look like a calm photo, but it wasn’t. My poor fawn and white runner was freaking out and my blue drake wouldn’t leave her side. He also tried attacking the towel thinking it was hurting her. They HATED it, and I was only able to soak two of them. One of which was only in for around 5 min. The other was in for 10-12 min. They kept dunking their heads and trying to drink it!!

Sooooo.... @Isaac 0 I think I’m going to forget the soaks for awhile and just try and apply the colorless iodine (which I have) or the chlorhexidine (which I can get) and antibiotic ointment and sit them on my lap while it soaks in a bit. Do you think I have a chance with just doing that method? We also took out all their river rock today and changed it to new fresh/soft dirt :D

That should work, as long as there is some sort of bandage over it, to keep it moist, and to protect the core from more bacteria.

Mine didn't try to drink it but the level was just enough for his feet to soak, although he did thrash around a little at first and splashed some on his beak, which I didn't like. But after a few seconds he saw he was stuck and was good and we soaked for 15 mins. Having a lid helps.
My Vet recommended the chlorhexidine soak.

Your fawn and white runner is so pretty...I want one. 🥰

Thank you! She’s a real sweetie. I love my runners! I also realized she has some watermelon splashed on her still in this photo from today’s snack time:p

I tried the vet wrap contraption, and she slid right out of it :( any other way to bandage it? Can I apply an actual bandage or gauze with vet/athletic tape? I tried the YouTube methods I’ve seen and she’s so squirmy, she slides right out. I don’t want it to hurt her when I pull it off, but I don’t know how else to get it to stick to her. Especially when they run through the sprinklers or get into any kind of water or wet ground.
