Wow! I sure hope she is better soon! As you can see, I am no expert on this, but I'd remove the scabs again and if nothing comes out, then lance. There are some really good threads in previous posts that show just that! Good luck!Hey guys, This is the most recent post on bumblefoot here so I hope it's ok to post here w/ my question. Thanks for any help! I noticed about 1 week ago our hen had a bump in between two of her toes. I assumed it was bumblefoot. She was not limping at all and acting normal. An inspection of the bottom of her feet revealed the usual bumblefoot scab in the center of BOTH feet. Only 1 of them had a bump in between the toes, the other foot just had the scab but otherwise looked fine. We followed instructions on the link below for removing the scabs etc. For both feet there was very little puss or anything that came out even though we squeezed, etc. On the foot w/ the bump between the toes, I was unsure if I got the entire scab off. It was difficult to tell and I didn't want to take too much off. I did the best I could and wrapped her up. Her feet have been wrapped for about the last week and we've changed the bandages every 2 days. Yesterday when we changed them I inspected the scabs. On the one foot w/o the bump between the toes, it just looks the same as it did before -- a scab but no swelling or anything. I assume it's healing?? Not sure. The scab looks the same to me as it did before I removed it. On the other foot w/ the bump between the toes (pictured here), the bump is still there between the toes -- it hasn't gone down or gotten worse. Looks the same. But when I pressed on the scab some of it felt hard underneath and I know the puss will actually start to turn into a hard mass. I am thinking I need to go back in and remove the scab, etc again. What do you guys think? Do I need to lance the bump between her toes? This is the first time we've had to do this. Thanks! http://www.hobbyfarms.com/how-to-treat-bumblefoot-in-chickens-3/![]()
