hey guys.. I have what I believe is a bad case of bumblefoot. I noticed it Saturday night. It’s my first encounter with this. I’ve done tons of research and found everyone uses a different method. I tried soaking her in Epsom salt and pulling off the scab, but didn’t get anything out. So I cleaned it well with betadine, and wrapped it up with some triple antibiotic ointment. I did this twice a day. On the 3rd day it looked worse, so I tried to clean it out again. Nothing yet again. So again, I wrapped it up with triple antibiotic and also sprayed it with some blue Kote. It’s very warm and seems to be getting worse, so she’s been on antibiotics for 3 days now. I just wanted to share some pics to get everyone’s opinion on if I should keep going with the wraps and soaks, try the clear iodine method, or any other ideas. Thanks! I have the pic of how it was the first day, and now on day 6.

Day 6.. sorry for the purple from the blue Kote!

I usually don't wrap until I get the bumble out but I have only had to treat chickens none of my water fowl have had bumble. But as long as the skin is intact don't wrap. Just use a q tip and put the clear iodine on top and bottom of the bumble make sure its dry before putting her down. What should happen is after 3-5 days of using the scab should begin to peel off easily and I use a pair of sterile tweezers to pick out the bumble.
