Bumblefoot

If it is left untreated long enough the infection will eventually spread to other tissues, can go into the bones causing osteomyelitis which is very difficult to treat in birds since their bones are hollow. It can also become septic. Left alone it can be fatal. It is much easier to treat when it's done early, so it's best not to wait. The larger it gets the more difficult it can be to get it all out and healing time will be longer.
This is my approach to all bumblefoot initially, I only resort to actually cutting if this doesn't work:

For small lesions you can also try this, but it does take some time so it's a commitment:

Left untreated, eventually, the infection will start to spread up through the legs causing osteomyelitis, paralysis, and painful death.
