My 9 mo. old Cuckoo Maran hen seems to have too large of pads on the bottom of her both her feet, which makes it rough for her to stay balanced on the roost at night. She also walks tenderly on her feet, like she is trying to place them a certain way. I don't see any scab-like things on the bottoms of her feet, but she does have bigger pads than all the rest of the flock. My concern is that her feet are irritating her. I have very little experience with bumblefoot, so I'm not sure if it's that or not. Any ideas?

I'm sorry - I had to go to work. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow afternoon or evening. Thanks!

I hope this works - I've never attempted to post a pic before. Here are both my hen's feet. Is this bumblefoot? She does have a weird sort of scaly thing on one of her feet.

Did you ever figure out what this is? I have an adolescent araucana bantam with the same problem, unusual scales and swelling on the pads of her feet, but she also does have a little scabbing. I was thinking bumblefoot but I have not been able to get the sores to drain.
