That one chick refused to come down, huh? Nice set up. How is the hay as bedding working out for you?

Thanks... I like the hay. I scoop the poo up with a kitty scooper and once a week I pull it all out and put new fresh hay. The chicks like it because it keeps them warm. Still really cold here at night.

This is my first experience with chicks. Should I be using something else?

No, I use hay, too. Some people don't like hay but if you clean it like you are doing you should be fine.
