Just got home with these 2 boys. I did end getting them at a feed store 😬. They had them “sexed” let’s hope they were right. I was gonna check for my self but their guess is as good as mine.

I asked what they could tell me about them and ofcourse they couldn’t tell me anything. So all you bunny experts tell me your thoughts... they are lion heads correct? And about how old do you think they are?

They’re lionhead(likely crosses). Very cute! They’re young maybe 4-6 months (lionhead breeder should check me on this).

Take close up pics of their genitals -after you push a bit on either side of the “pink part”. And get whatever is there to pop out a bit.

I’ll check their genders in a couple days, I don’t want to freak them out. Aside from putting them in and out of the tote for transport I haven’t picked them up. Im trying to let them settle and get used to me first. But if I need some gender help I’ll post pics.

They are adorable! Do they have names yet?
I agree with LizzyJo on the breed and age.

So they don’t seem to be eating much hay. I know that’s the majority of their diet but they don’t seem interested in it. Should I take the pellets away for a couple hours and see if they’ll start eating the hay?

Yes, take the pellets away. How many pellets did you give them? And how much fresh veggies?

Yes - they need to be trained to eat hay. Hay is not as tasty as pellets and, coming from a pet store, they likely never had hay (it’s messy). Assuming they’re 4-6 months old you can give them alfalfa for a few weeks before transitioning to Timothy. You can also mix it for a month or so. After that move to all Timothy. Alfalfa is like cupcakes for an adult rabbit.

Their pellets depends on their weight. My 4lb adults get 1/4 cup of pellets per day. Many feed 1/8 cup pellets per 5lbs of rabbit. Check their weight and bone feel to be sure it’s the right amount for them.

Only do fresh greens a few bites a day and check for soft poops.

Be sure they’re eating their “blackberry poops” (cecotropes) at night. If you see them piling up, then their diet is too rich or too much.
