Bunny Boy had Bunnies..

I have another question about the bunnies...They are in a prefab Chicken Coop..Pretty much like a prefab Rabbit hutch. Will the Bunnies learn the ramp or will I need to prepare a ground level pen for when they are out of the nest?..I have two weeks to get things ready before they leave the nest right?..Don't they leave the nest at 3 weeks?..:idunno

Baby bunnies are surprisingly mobile from the get-go; exactly when they begin exploring their world depends on a lot of things. Some with adventure in their souls don't even wait until their eyes open.:barnieIf the litter is large or the mother doesn't have an abundant milk supply, the kits may go looking for food sooner, but keep returning to the nest.

Babies that are walking well should be able to manage the ramp, no problem; I have even seen 3-to-4-week-olds shinnying up the corners of cages. If they aren't all that good at walking when they first stumble onto it, they may tumble down and not be able to get back up, and that could be a problem, with your temperatures being what they are.

Depends on your set up and your babies. My rabbits lived in a 2 story cage with a ramp between floors, none of the rabbits had any problems figuring out the ramp. None of them were babies, however. Make sure there is plenty of padding below the ramp, in case of one falling. Keep an eye out to make sure they can get back in.

Yes.. I think I better come up with something soon. They are inside a nest box so can't crawl around too far. They are staying in the nest as of this morning all is good..The hutch is stuffed with straw so the only place they can go is in the plastic container that I set up as the Brooder box.

That would be great during the day. Although it's at night I guess would be my problem...
