Bunny not eating, or pooping UPDATE, New rabbit saved from "dog food"

Sounds like it might be:

Mucoid Enteritis
In the case of mucoid enteritis, the classic symptom is rabbit diarrhea that is jelly-like and gooey, fouling the entire hind end of the rabbit. The rabbit will also exhibit some of the other symptoms of enteritis such as tremendous thirst, and you’ll hear water sloshing in the gut if you pick him up.

The cause of mucoid enteritis is usually an impaction. There are a variety of reasons why an impaction could occur. Ensuring plenty of fiber in the diet seems to reduce the chances of mucoid enteritis.

If not treated, the rabbit will be thirsty but unable to eat. You may see it straining to defecate. Over 3-5 days or so, the rabbit will waste away, and finally die.

Mostly we see this in rabbit from hair balls, yes buns get them too! The second reason is from eating something they shouldn't. You should hear some guts sounds to see if things are moving, they should not be completely absent. Mucoid Enteritis like she said has a foul smell, plus you will see some jelly like substance. You can put your bun in a small carrier on a white towel to see better. JMO

OK, No runny or congested nose or sounds, no watery eyes, they are clear and bright. No mucous in the poop, his poo looks like really soft rabbit pellets right now, I have him on a white towel so I could see if and when and what consistency the poos was. When he does poo he looks sleepy then turns around and licks his bum and the last poo he ATE

Eating the soft pellets is a good thing, it is call caphrogy ( I know I spelled it wrong, but I am not breaking out the bunny bible right now) It is something all rabbits must do to keep the bacteria in their intestines balanced with good bacteria. So DON"T stop him. Are you giving him any grass hay?? (Not alfalfa)

Also, a little warm tea (with caffine) in their water bottle's helps with pain (weird but it works). Just the tea, sometimes a little honey in it will help encourage drinking, plus the NATURAL sugar from the honey will help. I would keep him on oatmeal as well. Baby bunnies do have a hard time regulating their temps, especially buns with large ears. You want to keep him warm enough without overheating him.

If he was eating hay before and you switched him to pellets, maybe he needs more fiber. Can you give him hay? Not cubes or pellets, but actual long stemmed hay.

today he has eaten canned pumpkin a bunch, and a tiny bit of uncooked oatmeal,no rabbit pellets and I got him timothy hay cubes yesterday but he won't eat them I am gonna get a bale of "hay" not "straw" correct? His belly still must hurt cuz he lays with his legs out but not grinding teeth as much today as yesterday. While I'm out I need to look for baby gas drop, and benebac? Oh last night I also made him some tea and honey he really seeded to like that. go figure lol

Glad he seems to be feeling a bit better. You are correct, you want HAY, not straw. You won't need a whole bale of hay (they tend to weigh upwards of 100 lbs!), just a couple bags of timothy hay from the pet store. Just give him a small handful at a time. Keep up the good fight!

Make sure you are using loose timothy hay and not cubes, it is not as effective, also, you can give him some kitty hairball stuff (Petromalt) and that will help a blockage slide through.

Sounds like you are doing good so far.... I will keep ya in our bunny prayers.
