I learned alot about their habits when i worked doing landscape work. We would find the nests everywhere. The mother will only go to the nest to feed them, then get away. They dont want to lure predators to the nest. So by the time she did come around, they would be in rough shape and she might have just abandoned them too. Its alot of work to raise the babies, good luck.
I rescued one a while back from inside the chicken pen. I kept it for 2 months tried not to interact with it to much so it wouldn't get use to us. Then took it to a beautiful horse park and let it go. Was afraid my outdoor cat would make lunch of him at the house.
Firechicken-thank you. We think she's adorable too. Jewel is cute too, but I think she'll look better when she loses a few pounds. Her prev owners fed her potato chips and noodles as treats. We're giving them celery, apples, apple branches and carrots as treats with lots of timothy hay and pellets as their food. Hopefully she'll slim down a little.
I love everyone's pix-those baby bunnies are just too cute. Hope they make it!
Keep the photos coming!
