Burmese Green Peafowl

Oh so Lewis Eckerd has imported birds?
Are yours spicifer? I possible, do you have any pictures of your peafowl that you could share with us, especially pictures of them when they were around 2 years old?
Thanks so much.

Lewis Eckerd has imported birds he imported 2 pairs of all three species he was the first breeder to bring in the German imports I think it was 2004 or 2005. He lost a burmese hen and a imperator in quarntine. He hatched the first burmese in 2008 it was one hen and 3 or 4 males. I bought one of these males and the pair went to a breeder up north and they lost the male and Lewis sent another male.
Peafowlmom don"t know who you bought them from but they are not 3 gen out of the imports because the first gen. out of the imports want be 5 till 2013 and I have never heard Lewis microchipped any of his birds. There is only 4 or 5 breeder in the US that has the imports and I have one pair of the last burmese that was imported in. I have 2 burmese hens from Lewis regular burmese and I am 100% sure they are not pure they look nothing like the import hen.

I will have to ask Norm about when he purchased his pair and if they were the pair from the imports.
Then I will let you guys what he says.

I found out they weren't from Lewis imports unfortunately.
Are there any other breeders on here that raise pure greens?

But to sum this up, do my peafowl look my hybrids?
If needed I could try to get newer pictures of closeup's if needed...

It is hard to say if they are hybrids or not...The barring does look a little off but other than that they are so tall and slim looking and everything that if they are hybrids they have a lot of green blood.

Hello,
As FrankYlegent wrote above. Not one bird on the pictures in this post is a spicifer. They are evev no pure greens too. All are spalding birds with a very high % of green blood.
There are some issues were you can see it. But the most typical one for all bird is the form and the length of the crest.
Unfortunately too many people dealing with spaldings and name them pure geens.
