I woke up this morning and went straight to the incubator as I usually do to turn eggs. I have 7 fertile, 2 1/2 week old runner ducks in there. I found that the light bulb had burned out during the night and the temp was down to 60ish.I was so worried about the babies.
I immediately changed out the bulb, checked the eggs and didn't see any movement. Of course I prayed for little guys, went down and fed the chicks and baby ducks in garage, came back up and checked the eggs again and I am pretty sure I saw 6 at least moving.
Has this happened to anyone before? This is my first time doing this and the incubator is homemade. i figured all of the moisture finally got to the lightbulb and it blew. Anyway to prevent this from happening again?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

That why I always use 2 bulbs . In your case 60 watts is your need. Find a Y socket at Hardware store (screws into your socket and then put 2 30w bulbs in ...if you loose 1 bulb you will still have heat. 30 w bulbs are odd maybe 2 40w .Just try a few diff.combos It Works!....cva34
