Busted, rotted egg

I was letting a hen sit on 4 marked eggs. Today was day 12. There was a busted egg underneath her and stunk really bad. I took her out and pulled all the bedding and other eggs out. Do I need to bathe her or disinfect the nest? Oh that was gross!!

When this happens to me I clean out the bedding in the nest box and put in fresh. If you disinfect be sure to rinse well. If the hen is soiled I wipe her off with a damp cloth. I don't bath the hen as it might cause her to stop being broody. I also candle the rest of the eggs to be sure they have not rotted too. Normally I hold the eggs to my nose for a quick sniff test, but once an egg breaks everything smells. And yes, it is gross!
