Had a chicken go missing last week while free ranging never found the culprit. Today I heard the outside of the chain link chicken tractor rattle. Well apparently the hawk didn’t see the fence cause it had slammed right into the fence! Chickens are alright though just a little freaked out.

So sorry for your loss. Free ranging is fine but eventually you will loose a bird/birds. It's the risk you take. Hawks are federally protected so the only recourse you have is to protect your birds. Good luck...

Well apparently the hawk didn’t see the fence cause it had slammed right into the fence!

Have had more than a few hawks, a fox, and a coyote bounce off the run mesh.
Love it when that happens!
Didn't actually see it bounce just the immediate aftermath.
Fox slinked away and stopped to look back then lay down to ponder(or it's bell was rung good).
