My husbands the all knowing chicken guy around our house
(well, maybe not ALL knowing - more than me anyway)
But hes left for a week of fishing with friends and hes left me the chickens (and the quails and the pheasants and the rabbits, and the eggs that should hatch tomorrow, but I digress.)
So, hes gone and one of my chickens has gone broody. Were just about to hatch a whole bunch of eggs from the incubator, and we dont really want more baby chicks. I tried stealing her eggs from her yesterday, but shes back in the brooding box again today.
Is there a trick if you dont want a broody bird?
