I have some chickens to butcher and one appears to be egg bound. Would it be a bad idea to butcher that one?

It won't make any difference. It would be best to butcher it now before she dies from being eggbound.

You need to either treat her or butcher her. She's going to die if you don't do something. My vote would be to butcher because if you get her through it, it might happen to her over and over.

If you have an egg bound hen make sure that the flock has access to all the calcium that they want. Low calcium is one possible cause of hens getting egg bound.

Okay. It's happened before but has cleared up by the next day. Thanks
