I am new to raising quail so I am having a big learning curve right now.
I moved my 23 six week old Butler's to a very large colony pen and have been providing some branches off a cut cedar tree for cover. Today I put some magnolia branches in from where I trimmed around the new chicken coop . Needless to say , the Bobs went nuts and starting eating the leaves.
I take it the magnolia leaves are safe for my quail but wanted to check in here to get opinions.
Thanks in advance for your insight.

I got my own answer when I came home from work last night and again this morning.
They are all doing great. I suppose being a new parent makes you worry too much.

Glad your little ones are ok... sorry no one came along to answer this for you. I don't keep quail, but do use magnolia leaves in my deep litter for the chickens and have never had it cause any problems.

No apologies needed. I appreciate your reply.
It just concerned me a bit since I've been living in the deep south for right at 51 years and have never seen an animal eat those things.
