`17 out of 24 hatched, FBB has them in the office. Acording to her its to cold for them to be in the brooder house even thou all the other chicks go out there when they hatch. Oh well, I have to live with her.:rolleyes:And she always gets what she wants.

Looking for Buttercup Bantam hatching eggs any members here sell them, or know who to contact for good quality bantams??
I am thinking about going through Ideal Poultry..but I want to show my birds eventually, and I don't want to put in an order if I can find better birds :)

Thank you!!

Bantams only
Will deliver to local shows

This is your A+ number one first start. He is involved witht he buttercup club, and is an officer. He is a bantem buttercup guy, and I'd start with him. If you want to show, he'll know who else to contact, but I'd try to get his eggs. Remember, no eggs guarantee show quality, but from show stock is your best bet. Excellent choice, I'm starting with buttercups (standard) and getting trios and eggs both from the other 3 officers! LOL

Lol. I will :)

But I do have a question-- I can ask Jason too, but while reading this thread I also became curious about identifing show quality birds. I have done alot of research, but can't find any information on the breed standards. Is there anything about Buttercup standards that you can share-- I am sure other people here might also be wondering what to look for in their birds too :)

Happy to share the rewards of my own research.

http://www.backyardpoultrymag.com/issues/4/4-3/the_american_buttercup_the_crown_of_the_fancy.html Toward the 2nd half of article, it has the jist of breed standards

http://www.americanbuttercupclub.com/buttercup_breeders go to buttercup articles, again the second half has some good info, but in both cases, the articles are worth reading

If you google it, you can find pics of champions from previous shows too. The ones from shows with multiple butters tend to be better.....

Hope this helps.

Good links! Thank you :)

It would be kinda nice to see other people chimming in on their birds... I know there are more people on the forum than just us that love Buttercups, It would be fun to see pictures of everyones Butters :)
