so far our plan is to each keep two buttons, (hopefully 2 males 2 females)so its funny that 6 are definitely alive(thinking about early xmas gift for my cousin for last 2), as for the big ones we plan to candle them Thursday in 2 days, that will be day 6 for them like we did the buttons, plus thats our anniversary day so well candle them a lil late.I can’t wait to see what you get, I have like 100 set to hatch Thursday but I’m more interested in yours haha.
That’s when mine hatch. Our largest snow angel, Snowflake, crowed today :-( hopefully he’s the only male. We call the smallest Baldi, I think she’s a hen, I was hoping they were all hens, but I suspected snowflake was male. Idk if I imagine it, but I feel like the back of hens heads are more fleshy, and the roosters have less of a flesh bump, I planned to test this theory with the snow angels, and by that reasoning I thought Snow was male.so far our plan is to each keep two buttons, (hopefully 2 males 2 females)so its funny that 6 are definitely alive(thinking about early xmas gift for my cousin for last 2), as for the big ones we plan to candle them Thursday in 2 days, that will be day 6 for them like we did the buttons, plus thats our anniversary day so well candle them a lil late.
I would love the like to that hydrometer/ thermometer!Time for today's update, so coturnix eggs coming, got the tracking number yesterday late but there is a time difference in states. So I'm hopeful, it says Monday but well see if it gets here early , just watching some netflix so i dont mother hen the incubators, i try to keep it down to every hour when i can force my self (mostly to add a few drops of water to the old incubator).
So far this incubator is great, temp keeps matching the thermometer i tested and humidity is steady, i really really love the sliding vent on the back to control it, and the turning (watched it for hours to make sure, and i mean hours.) is safe so far and does a gentle slow push. Here is how they are set up until the coturnix eggs get here. My extra thermometer/hygrometer should be here my monday thanks amazon , really good reviews on the twin pack, non digital, (let me just insert a pic of that too here ) and then ill compare its thermometer to my tested one, then do a zip lock salt test for the hygrometer.(lol i luke the lil fox i drew i zoomed in on it)
Max 4 inches and females are normally bigger so some don't get past 3 and half, they are adorable,Thank you! I am constantly on the hunt for good ones for my iguana enclosure. You think keeping the temp and humidity of an incubator is hard try a 4'x5 x 6' tall box!
So excited to see the quail, I was just showing my husband some button chicks on craigslist this morning. How big are the adults?
I have that yarn! I bought it to make a creeper pillow, but then found a better color, now I have a huge thing of weird green lol.Max 4 inches and females are normally bigger so some don't get past 3 and half, they are adorable,
As u can see this was our snow(name not type or morph) a few pics of her getting the pets and cuddles and scratches she loved, then size comparison pics like the yarn and the dvd remote that she pooped on cuz i took her peanut away.
Should have seen the day she realized she don't fit in my sleeve anymore.
