Button Quail Cage? Will this Work?

I also have one of these that has 1 pair: http://www.petco.com/product/114142/Petco-Designer-Square-Top-Parakeet-Cage.aspx?CoreCat=MM_BirdSupplies_CagesStands

But
then again, I've also got a pair in a 10-gallon fish tank with hardware cloth on the top. Anything would work, the fish tanks work pretty well actually. You just need to put a dish or chick waterer in there since it's pretty much impossible to hang a bottle in it.

ETA: I just took the wire out of the bottom so they 'live' in the pan.

Thanks for all of the input everyone! I'm still deciding what cage I am going to pick, Shelly - I really like that last one you posted! I try to update about which one I choose

I have tons of this style cage. The only problrm is the bottom wire doesnt remove. So it is a problem for buttons and needs some sort of false bottom. This is the cage as to why i had written you shelley to ask about the foam trays. which turned out nice,, thanks!
I also have rubber shelf liner in the rest of the cage

I didn't even notice it had wire on the bottom. I really like that cage, I might get one for myself and modify it

ETA: You could always cut the wire off the bottom of the cage

Then you could re-purpose the wire into a divider.

ETA again: It looks like you should be able to un-hook the bottom wire and remove it.

HI Shelley,
The wire bottom probably could be removed. But I"m not sure that's a good idea with this style cage.

If you remove the bottom, it will leave the front wall with no support!

I would also leave a 1/2" gap between the bottom wire across the front and the tray. The tray would have to be secured so it doesn't slide forward at all, because the wire under it to hold it in, is 4" squares, so a bird could get out.

I have 6 different sizes of this cage. Trust me... I looked into removing the bottom wire. LOL! But decided in the long run it wouldn't be a very good way to go.
