Button quail eggs in a Hova-bator Genesis 1588 (First attempt)

the chick wasn't the problem its something you need to expect when dealing with any egg situation (I'm an ex breeder of finches and budgies) but i saw the hair and was like what then bam dead chick, glad you other bottons are doing good

Yes, me too! I can't believe I hatched that many. I was expecting to be lucky to get five or six. I had low hopes for myself and tons of stress over humidity levels. But, they do and DID pop out like popcorn! I haven't quite come to my decision on keeping them either 1 male to 1-2 females or a big colony pen. Right now my adults are like this: 2 males, 2 males, 1 male/2 females. I am hoping when these guys grow up I can pair girls to boys properly. The pairs of males seem happy or at least content for the most part right now, however. Time will tell what works best --- and plenty of close supervision of course!

Here they are growing up....a few more days until they get moved to the new pens. Some already have new homes!

Hatched out 16 more between yesterday and today... three left in there. I'm on a roll!

That is all for this year...I need to find homes for some and set up pens for the keepers.
