button quail eggs. please help

Still nothing. No chirping no wiggling no other pips... I'm worried. I know you should wait like 48hours but i thought they'd at least show some signs by now

This is my first time incubating and hatching eggs and raising a game bird.I only want two quail so i ordered 4 eggs (the man told me i should get more than what i want in case some aren't fertile or "quit"?) when i went to the farm to pick them up the man had given me the rest of his hatching eggs since he usually gets large orders and had no use for the rest. I now have 8eggs and still only want 2quail. When and how will i know what two eggs are best to keep so i can take the rest out?

After about ten days candle your eggs and you can see which ones are developing not sure I could toss any eggs that was developing but I would hatch all that would hatch button quail are so tiny you may lose a couple after hatch if this is your first time. My experience is they can drown in their water if precaution is not taken. They are great birds and you can give away the ones that you like the least. Or maybe sell.

I already got passed that. The person who sold me the eggs agreed to take any unwanted chicks. But 4weren't fertile and two died. I'm only left with 2. I'm just hoping these two make it. One piped today

don't worry a bit. They can take as little as 2 minutes to completely hatch or as long as 24 hours in my experience at least. when mine hatched they showed no visible Rocking until about 10 hours after they pipped and then within minutes they zipped and were completely out. It was like lightning!. you are in the safe zone!
