I am on day 12 of incubation but cannot candle most of the eggs because they are to dark in color and no light
passes through them. Is there any other way I can check these eggs for chicks!!

Lol that is how you check them. If no light passes through it's because a chick is blocking it's passage. Dark egg shells don't allow you to watch vein development or heart beats. All you get on dark shells, is does it have a chick or doesn't it.

Ready for lock down but worried that water may evaporate from dish before hatch. bearing in mind incubator should not be opened at this stage. What should I do if this happens.
Should I but a separate dish of extra water in just in case or could that raise the humidity to much!!!!!

If you have to open it add a couple teaspoons of hot water to the water pan. The hotter water being added will bump the humidity. If there are eggs pipping and the humidity is low, just let it ride. The pipped eggs will shrink wrap if you open the door before they hatch.
