Button quail fighting reflection?

We have about one week old button quail and this one named Clide keeps jumping at the glass then stepping back and repeting this is that because he is a rooster or is he just being weird.

These birds can't recognize their own reflections. To him, he is probably fighting "that guy that's always looking at me funny." Mirrors can be comforting to some ground birds, but not in a (literally) self-reflective way—if they don't see it as company, they probably see it as a threat.
