button quail incubating in Mini advanced incubator???

the hen will gather and remove eggs for a few days before she sits tightly. once she sits tightly, meaning she doesn't leave the nest only to eat and poop, it should take 16 days. You might be surprised by more then the 5 eggs you thought were in the nest she might have more stashed and will bring them to the nest to hatch. good luck

oh and sorry about the cat...stupid cat.

You were right I found 3 eggs in the corner! That means she has 8 total. I love watch the male and female fight over the eggs.

My button hatched out 6 chicks this morning which I was so excited to see. So far ive added a smaller water for the chicks aswell as grinded up food (powder/ very small crumbs) Anything else I can do to help them?

I don't know how small your waterer is, but make sure it is very small(mine is ~5 mm high) and perhaps add pebbles to the water to make sure they can't drown or get too wet - they'll drink between the pebbles and presumably the wet stones attract them and make them drink more.
What do you feed them? Mine get a 25% protein game bird starter, but more protein would probably be better.
If your cage has any sort of bars or wire within ~10 cm from the floor, make sure you cover it if the holes are more than about 8 mm wide. They can get through the tiniest holes. A picture of your cage might help.. But there also shouldn't be too many obstacles so the chicks can't find their parents.
Good luck!

The waterer is .5 at the front and goes up a mil as it reaches the back plus theres lids with water.

I feed poultry starter its like 22% only thing I can buy local and never had any problems as I feed meal worms occassionaly.

The birds are in an aviary and the wire is approx 2.5inches up from the ground as theres timber at the bottom followed by some cement under tbe timber.

at first I taught the .4-5 inch dip in the concrete would cause hassle but they hop it and Daddy makes noise if any goes missing so there okay there.

Shelly Bear, I have a wild colored button quail hen for sale if you are interested... She is already laying but I don't have any males to breed her with and she is the only button I have , she gets lonely often but my bobwhites keep her company(or try)

I would love her if you are willing to ship. I live in Washington and that is quite far but I have had quail shipped to me before and they seamed fine. I will pay for everything if a good price.

Ok, my hen is weird she has 8 eggs and only sits on four and she can sit on them but doesn't.

it is not usual for buttons to hatch their own eggs so if she doesn't sit tightly take the eggs and let her try again. She will either get the jest of things or anyway it will be fun to watch. good luck.
