Button Quail Information Request

Finally, a bad and blurry photo a few of the older button quail, hatched roughly 5 weeks ago, around July 5/July 6:

In the first picture I see a red breasted hen on the left, two wilds, a cinnamon in back, and the rest can be silvers or what nots

There are some boy butts in the most recent pic

Gee, I wonder??? I think you know!

You sent me a very nice mix. I couldn't be more pleased with the various shades and colors. No two are exactly the same ... well, not now, anyway, I HAD two that were "identical twins" until tragedy struck.

I don't know if you caught my comment above, I killed one accidentally. I had a Brinsea ecoglow heater in the rubbermade bin, and the legs of the unit were quite tight against the sides of the bin. Somehow one of the babies got itself between the wall and the leg, and either suffocated or maybe overheated. It happened during the night. I felt awful, but there was nothing I could do to save it, it was already gone when I found it, in rigor. I took the ecoglow out of there right away. I won't use it again like that, only in a really big space with a lot of room on all sides.

Anyway, I was grateful that the one that died was exactly the same color as another one, so I still have the all of the colors that hatched. They were the only two duplicates, now I have one of that particular color.

Accidents happen

I had chicks brooding and one flew out of the brooder and onto the quail brooder and knocked the lamp into another brooder crushing a chick. After that, the chick brooders got lids so the "curious" ones did not escape

I am glad you got a great mixture. Coturnix are fun! Same with Buttons! Can't deny that
