Button quail not laying eggs!

I hatched two button quail myself over 7 months ago. They are wild type coloration and no mistaking a male and female pair. Only problem is my female has never layed and egg. They make little nests down into there substrate but only sometimes and nothing comes of it. Any idea on what I can do to help promote her to lay an egg?

It may be overbreeding from the male. It could be stress from environment (which it prob isn’t) or not enough light. Mine is 9 months and not laying. She’s layed one egg in her life and I know they are not eating them.

I do agree with JadeFarms and light and stress are probably factors. Your setup and environment might also impact it. (Not accusing you) Can you show pics? Also is there signs of breeding? What daylight hours are they getting and is the weather too cool?
