How old is the roo and what is he? I could take him but he wouldn't like it very much.
Then again I'd love to throw a roo in with my 14 hens and get some fertile eggs.

I have 20 fryer roos and was gonna keep a few for a while. My hens are getting cranky
for some roo love.

I got my button eggs from marie_martin as well.

Cool I only had one chick hatch from the eggies she sent me (not her or her eggies fault, it was my darn incubators fault). "Gordon" is the chick from her

I had only one hatch out of mine as well. I had 2 that died in the shell, one after pipping the shell, the other after pipping the membrane. There were a couple more that were quitters. I'm not sure what I did wrong. I will be getting some more though. This little one will be all alone once its A&M buddies get too big!

Here is my lonely little button with its A&M buddies, at about 2-3 days old. They are now about 2 weeks old, and the A&M's are getting huge!! They are starting to feather, and are definitely getting the uglies!!

I raised a button quail with a big batch of Jumbo and normal sized coturnix quails for almost 11 weeks with no probs I just the other day removed the button quail only because I put her in with a male button quail hoping for some winter incubating.
smile.png
OH and not to mention i introduced another hen (button) into the coturnix flock and she is still in with them as she's in there to proove that button quail can survive outside in cold climates as long as they are kept out of drafts....she's doing wonderfully and it's gotten way below freezing here.

Hold on let me finda pic or two

and ijust like this one....that's pippin when she was younger in my hand....which i honestly believe the only reason she felt comfortable enough to eat out of my hand is because the coturnix's were...my other buttonquail Kitty also comes to me more often because of the coturnix's
