Howdy. Well. Does anyone have any pictures of Button Quail. I don't care which color. I am planning on building pens for them in the spring time and the thing is I don't have any idea what colors are out there or even if there are more then 2-3 colors. So if anyone has any pictures of the little cuties I would be very happy if you could post them below.

And if you have a link that would be great to.

I can't wait to see the pics! I love the little boogers!

I was going to get a few to live in my big flight cage with my finches but I heard that when startled the little quail do this BOING! thing off the ground. hee hee

I have a terrier that is always looking into the bird cage and I thought better of having the poor little quail BOINGING up and down every time he peeked in.[IMG]

I used to have Buttons. They were so cute, but CRAZY! Be sure to put some kind of padding on the top of the cage, otherwise you'll lose a lot of birds to head injuries. They jump crazy high and they think that they can burst through solid objects... not so smart. Also, they're very susceptible to illness, especially cocci, so keep their health up. Also, the average life span is about 5 year, just to let you know.

I think the most common colors are a color pattern very similar to porcelain d'uccles and silver for the females. The males are usually dark gray with a red underbelly (males have a white beard, always). They come in other colors too, but I think those are the most common. I know there's a super rare pure white variety.
