what a good question!..now i know to feed my quail ground up dry kitten food mixed with their game starter..thanks for the info!..and BTW..yep!..cat food is generally higher protein...while dogs are actually omnivores(not pure carnivores,in the wild..dogs actually do eat greens to supplement their diet)..cats are mainly carnivores...so, it does make sense that cat food is higher in protein...
 
Yeah, I know they're more for watching but I'm going to try and make them as tame as possible. If I spend alot of time with them (especially as babies) they surely should be at least semi-tame. I was thinking about maybe laying in their pen (their outdoor playpen) with them and letting them get to know me. I've tamed alot of animals like that.

With that said SOME have had adult tame quail, but all I am saying is expect them to not be tame as you want them to be because odds are against you there but good luck.

I have tamed various animals as well so have many of us here...and many of us still agree buttons are skiddish and dont like hands around them.
