I live in Nothern FL. I'll PM you where this guy is located.

Do 2 males get along together? I've heard that they may fight and so girls are better to keep together if you're only going to have 2.

If you're only going to have two i suggest a male female pair, if you dont want the eggs to hatch then dont incubate thema nd collect them and throw them in the trash.

Two hens may fight, two males may fight...buttons are meant to be in pairs.

Or do what i do if you don't want to incubate the eggs..then collect them and boil them and feed them back to your birds...they love it

i always forget to mention that fact that they can boil em instead of just pitching them lol!

I read giving them live mealworms could be bad. It said the worm could actually harm or even kill the bird as the worm eats/biting on its gut or something!?:/
I give all my button quail freeze dried mealworms and I let my children give them live, very small, grasshoppers from the garden.
The quail love it, they all run up to the side of the cage where it opens whenever they see our hand come through to drop treats for them! They know when it's treat time! lol

they will not eat their insides but they are high in fat and should be fed no more that 5 tiny ones per week and then you should buy them from a bait shop not a pet store as the ones in pet stores are given vitamins for reptiles and the buttons do not need them and in large quantities could be harmful. the grasshoppers are fine as long as no one has sprayed for them. I just give mine veggies for a treat and eggs.
