Alright my brother made me get him some button quail today. so they are now in the brooder because they are still small so now where making their new home is a 55gal tank good? also lets see some of ur setups.also what are some good sites that show the colors and info?

A 55 gallon tank is fine for them. Make terraces/levels for them to play on.

I've seen some nice quail/fish tank setups. Sorry, no pics.

A 55 gal. tank is okay, depending on how many you have. You want floor space for them, not height. Use window screen to cover it with, so they get plenty of ventilation, and don't break their necks when they fly up.

Buttons are forever small, any idea how old they are?

The quantity of quail would be good to know. Not for me, but for those in the know.
I also have fish, and a 55gal. tank to fish is pretty huge, but they can occupy all 3 dimensions of a 55gal. tank when filled with water. Shellyd hit it on the head. Floor space is the main issue.
http://www.cyberquail.com is a good button quail site as well. There are some fish tank setups shown there and though the site isn’t updated a lot. The message board is very active, and friendly. I think some of the same people who post here, also post there.

well i have 12 and they are way too young to tell sex. I have a 55gal tank and a rack of 3 20gal longs. so what would be the best setup for them? Also how do u tell the sex other than the ring around the neck. I know when they were sold to me i have some buffs and some lavenders, also some darth vaders? and some normals.

what im basically asking for is i was wondering if anyone had pictures of setups that were done with fish tanks? or where i could find some pics of them. I have desided to use the pelleted pine because I know it gives off less dust. I was thinking a softer mess top on the top of the tanks and also i built little boxes for them to hide in when i open the tank. also i got some silk flowers i want to put on the back wall and weave in the screen top. Does this sound good?

Buff and lavander are not colors sorry to say. Males will have a shade of red around their vent.
