BUY and SHIP Chicks or EGGS ???

I would buy either to get the best result. Any recommendations? Like to hear any success stories or issues you may have experienced. Who to use if I decide to go forward and buy a few?

well it depends on what breeds you want? I only get shipped eggs for special breeds that I can't get locally...I just finished my third hatch and two of the hatches came from 'Rockinpaints' (Nellie) on here BYC...she has different breeds but i got ameraucanas and BCM from her.

The first batch I got 100% rate 12/12

this hatch I got 10 from 14 eggs 71%...pretty awesome if you ask me...

Well...... having done neither, I am prolly not qualified to answer but.....

Hatching from you own stock isn't 100% so I doubt mail order ones would be, so the answer are live chicks would have the best success ratio..... BUT..... shipping is a LOT cheaper for eggs than chicks.....

I have had two batches of baby chicks shipped to me. All of them were happy and healthy. My thoughts are that, you don't have to put forth all the effort to get them to hatch and survive. They've already done that. Its like skipping a step.
