Buyer grief, what would you do?

Thanks for your support guys. It ruins my day dealing with people like this, and it wasn't a good day to begin with

I accidentally drowned 26 of my newly hatched Bobwhites this morning, the red part fell off the waterer as I was putting it in the brooder.

If I get a negative feedback comment, so be it. Anyone remotely knowledgeable will understand that it was not my fault, and if not i'd prefer they didn't bid anyway. I'll keep you posted.

Cara, I looked at your feedback.....you have good comments concerning your shipping etc. A good buyer looks at more than just the number. When I see a negative I read all the comments and then decide. I also look at the feedback of the buyer who left the negative. In particular, I look at the feedback that they have left for other sellers. If I see alot of negative or neutrals I disregard them.
Have you looked at this buyers feedback to see if he is a scammer or a complainer? That might help you decide how to fix the problem. I do agree with most of the other posters here that you did your best to have the eggs arrive in good condition and that other then replacing the eggs, you do not have to refund the money. One note of caution....paypal might force a refund (plus a $10.00 fee) if the buyer complains to them.
Good luck

His feedback is good, as is the feedback he has left for others. It looks as if he's a first time egg buyer though, which would explain a lot.

Thanks Beardedchick

Those little waterers are a PITA, I just couldn't believe how fast it happened. I was scooping handfuls of quail out trying to save them, and thought i'd lost all 120. I put them back in the hatching tray in the incubator for a couple of hours, crossed my fingers and luckily most of them came back to life. I found an escapee across the other side of the yard this afternoon, cheeping away! I don't know how he'd made it that far and not got too cold, but he was just fine

I seem to have bad luck with quail though, they are just so delicate.

I hate when that happens! I've done it three time in the past two weeks

Fortunatly it was with chicks that were older so a little extra saw dust and they were fine.. but I swear sometimes those things are faulty! I've switched to a metal push and turn one since.

All Cara has to do (in event of a paypal complaint) is to "gladly refund purchase price minus shipping if the goods are returned."

They won't send back the eggs, and if they refuse to, then they can't do anything beyond that - been there, done that.

I think that this is the best & most succinct advice yet.
