Buying a vacuum, best one for pets?

I also have a Dyson and when I had carpet, it was the most awesome thing. I have had it since 2005 and until then, I was replacing vacuums yearly. Now that I do not have carpet, it is still worth the money, as I use it on the furniture and the bed, and with the hard floor attachment (that is purchased seperately) it does wonderfully as well on tile, vinyl and laminate flooring.

Yes, the hard floor attachment attaches to the Dyson handle like the attachments that come with it. The hard floor tool though is wider, and mine is purple, its probably about a foot wide? Better than using the "hard floor" setting on the bottom of the actual vacuum, how you can select either hard floor or carpet? Yeah, that part does not do hard floor well IMO.
