Hi im chicken man 78 i been raising chickens for 35 years i was wondering if anybody knows any local people around louisana that sells and trade chickens thanks

Its nice to be on here nice to meet everybody on here looking forward to getting to know every body so how excatly to i get to go look at the buying and tradeing section for louisana im new at this
 
Go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum so you can locate and post on your state thread. Once there you have a much better chance of discovering those who do buy/trade chickens. A lot of areas have swap meets. This is a new member introduction site - so most people don't live anywhere near you to offer suggestions.
 
So whats everybodys opion what is the best hens to use just for eggs
 
Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2 on post in your state thread for local birds. The most popular egg layers would probably be the commercial White Leghorns for white eggs and the various red sex links for brown eggs, they have various names depending on the hatchery they come from Red Stars, Golden Comets, ISA Browns etc.
