Buying baby chicks

I see ALL hatcheries as GOOD. They all strive to be that. There are differences though. Some have certain breeds, and others have minimums that may exceed your needs. Others with smaller minimums get pricey and shipping will really get the best of you>>>> :(
So,, with all this said, what are your needs in term of numbers??
Are you concerned about cost?
Do you know which breeds you want? Some hatcheries get sold out of certain breeds quickly. Some you may have to wait until a few months away.
Do you already have a coop set up? Best not to get the wagon ahead of the horse.
My suggestion,,,,,, if you are a beginner, is to get chicks from a Feed Store near you. They usually have 6 chick minimums, but not all stores follow that guideline.
You can see what you are getting, and ask questions from the store clerk about the particular ones available.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and:welcome
