Buying day old chicks online...quick question

I see your in Wisconsin, so I would try and order 6-7 just in case you do get any DOA.... but the weather is 95 or so here in S. Texas, not sure how hot it is where you are..so you need to consider the weather changes on Day olds, but 6-7 I would say should do great. Good luck with your babies! Hope I helped some. Maybe someone up north can chime in and tell you how their chicks faired on travel. I love Ideal!!! They are great to work with.

You did not say how many you wanted just less than 25. I ordered from Cackle and they start at 15. I know that could still be too many but just a thought.

I did order 25 but only because I wanted that many my only complaint is out of 25-3 are roosters.

There are so many options out there that if you do your research, you'll find just about exactly what you want. Just keep asking the experienced BYC'ers questions and they will keep you out of trouble and help you not waste your money.

I ordered 6 from Meyer and got one peanut. Thankfully it turned out to be a pullet. I have always had good experiences with them and definitely recommend them.
