Buying my first pigeons. What age should they be?

Nice! What breed have you settled on? Ports??

I haven’t decided on anything in specific. I will most likely just find someone who has pigeons near me and buy from them. Unfortunately the one guy I was asking for ports from said he was dealing with some type of sickness in his flock.
