BWAA, HA, HA! You would think that after 15 years, the Hubs would know better than to dare me...

Night temps are around 90. Right now I have chicken wire cliped to the top of the brooder. I'm keeping them in the house for a while longer and just keeping the brooder super clean.

Best of luck to your daughter. My ex and I were stationed at Cannon 20 years ago. It was not my favorite place to put it mildly. It was really rough going from a decent sized city to small town life. I'm not a small town kind of girl, lol.

I definately will be trying the shade cloth. Thanks for the idea.

When we lived across the CA border in the desert we found that those camouflage shade cloths the army uses are very handy. They are holey so they allow circulation yet provide excellent shade. You can find them at army surplus stores I am sure. Here is a link so you can see what I am talking about. http://www.camonettingstore.com/urban-camo-netting/ Surprisingly there are lots of interesting patterns so lots of choices in appearance.

Fabulous idea Anne! I have an Army Surplus store right up the block from me.

Hello again!
Sorry the shed didnt turn out for your coop, but maybe this is better. The smaller the coop the less of a chance chicken math has to take hold. And it WILL. Good luck with the project and great idea about the camo netting.

Do we have to wait another year for pictures this time?
See you in 2014 ;)

Picture of how it turns out would be nice. Yes, I think Cannon's going to be quiet a change!

My computer crapped out and now my tablet is freaking out so I have to keep it quick The coop is almost finished. We need to finish up windows and the gate and then we're done. The chicks haf their first outing today. It tooka minute for them to figure out that grass is yummy. We also realized that the dogs will not friends with tne chickens.Thank god for the playpen walls between the chicks and the dogs or the dogs would have gotten a yummy snack.

Pics to come. Just for you Chambertin. As soon as I figure out how to send them drom my phone to the site.

Yay! Pictures ;)

Happy that the chickens can live, maybe you can teach the doggies to only eat chicken in nugget form?
I'm still working on that, but luckily my doggies were too old to care or young enough that chickens, while moving, are still friends.
Good luck with the loading, been having bad luck with the posting recently myself.
And, congrats on making it happen!
