Black pens and alcohol markers with pencils over the top to shadeThat's beautiful! Did you use markers on that?
Cool!Black pens and alcohol markers with pencils over the top to shade![]()
I’ve seen a video of a Green Heron doing that! So very clever. Love your birds. They look beautiful!I did a couple more. For today's bird on Unique Foraging Technique, I did the Green Heron. I remember the way they forage by that old video I saw years ago of one baiting fish with a piece of bread.

I also did a Mallard drake for day 7's Basic (Non-Breeding) Plumage. That's one of the days I had skipped. I had wanted to do a Mallard drake for that one because that's the first bird that came to mind.

You got to see a kiwi in real life?! That's soo cool!!!Day 29: unique foraging technique! We saw some brown kiwis when we went to NZ (I know I’ve mentioned that trip several times but it was legendary!). We saw them at the National hatchery that’s working to protect them, and I instantly fell in love with them. I chose to draw a kiwi because have nostrils at the end of your beak feels very unique to me!

Yeah it was so awesome! Not in the wild, but we saw a day old hatchling, a week old baby, and three “teenagers” that were almost at a “stoat-proof weight”. When they are big enough to stand a chance against predators they are released. It was so amazing to see them. And thank you!!You got to see a kiwi in real life?! That's soo cool!!!
Adorable drawing, by the way.![]()
Long wings or no, it’s a beautiful drawing! I love seeing them too. Very elegant birds. Why'd I have to realize the prompt said "wings" and not "legs" too late?
Anyway, under the misreading of legs, I drew a Great Blue Heron because they're one of my favorite birds to see in the wild and they have long legs.
