Ya it was kind of always meant to be a part time job for everyone. But I'm kind of a big deal so it's always been full time for me.
There's so much work now that what I was trying to get done in 8 the other 3 guys were doing less and adding up to 12 hours.
I've been transitioning to 4 10 hour days instead of 5 8s.
I'm taking Wednesdays off so it's weekends then every other day.

Yes. I'm in charge when the boss is off showing, judging or vacationing or any other excuse he comes up with to be gone.
Showing and judging is always on weekends or weekends + hence why I have to work weekends.
When the boss is there I'm not really in charge but the go to for questions or concerns. Middle man.
We're now trying to get one guy on the other morning shift to be his days middle man but he doesn't know so much. Been there 2 years.

I mean it is what I need it to be. I wish it was part time but paid the same as it does now for full time but I can get the boss to agree.
I have a kid to raise that eats 3 times what I do and then 7,814 chickens to feed so...

I'm in hillbilly land. Everybody and their dog has their own chickens. Pre-covid I couldn't get more then $1 a dozen and that was hardly worth the work to get the cartoons back and time to deal with packaging and handing off etc.
I'm at a disadvantage too because I only have white eggs. Too many people think farm fresh eggs have to be brown.
With egg prices as they are in the stores now I may be able to do a lot better. I may see in the spring.
