Thank you everyone for your nice words. I owe alot to my DH who bought me my first oils that I didn't want. My first oil I did in high school was a beautiful pic of mud.LOL Swore I'd never pick up an oil paint again! And my Dad who was my worst critic. It hurt when he'd say it. But it helped out alot. The hardest part I still have and I continue to have to rework my pic,is to make the lights lighter(highlights) and the darks darker(shadow). It gives so much more depth to the painting.
Chickabee19- do you have a pic in mind for the lavender spray? I assume you'd like it in the window gallery glass? If so please post it and I'll see what I can do.
I'm no artist but my wife is, so I'll post a few of her works. In the past she has painted portraits of peoples pets, some in the style of Ron Burns. The 3 animal portraits are of our pets, I'm not sure who the black guy is, but I think he's kinda famous???
Sorry about the poor quality photos, she paints better than I take pictures!!!
Enjoy!!
lol that's Bob Marley Great Art folks!! I'm in the throes of the first semester of art school (LOL) I will have to post some pics when I get some time. I had promised a lot of people that I would post pics of my line drawing that I did at the beginning of the semester, but I decided to do a series on it, so I am keeping it close to the vest for now.
I am working on my first portrait right now, and it's not too bad considering it's my first one.
hello hello. I am new to these forums and found this lovely art club! I'm a chicago based artist (who currently and hopefully temporarily lives in AL). I paint and do installation work. I've been asked if i'll paint my ducks but i haven't gotten around to it yet
I finished up my art degree in chicago and during y last semester i realized i loved teaching small children... So my lovely 80,000 dollar art degree does little more than look nic on the wall, lol...
My "career" art (as i call it) is a bit more abstract incorporating portraiture with installation.
I also do a lot of commissioned portraits. here's one of my favortes:
It was of a professor's new born premie. It's done with only prisma color pencils:
I also like to do fun stuff in photoshop, like these:
Me as a robot:
here's where i changed my face from German:
To Chinese (i got the idea from my chinese finance)
All of you that want PhotoShop, have you ever tried The Gimp software? It's FREE and available online, and it's basically the exact same thing as PhotoShop. If you are a Mac user, try looking for it.
