BYC Art Club!!!!

This seemed like a good place to share one of my recent pieces - (Watermarked, cropped version)

Although I used to do everything in pencil, oils, acrylics and ink (because there was no such thing as a home computer at the time - LOL) but now I have started really enjoying digital media... and I don't have to spend oodles in paint and canvas... and cleanup is a click away! LOVE my art pad!

Thank you for hte compliment! I have a very cheap Bamboo art pad. And "Swedish Flower Hen" is the breed name. They were imported from Sweden where they are called Blommehöns which translates to "bloom hens."

And yes - that is a rooster. A Swedish Flower Hen rooster... which totally sounds like an oxymoron. LOL!

These are two of my pieces which I did for art in school. The first one was for an examination and the topic was observation so I had to draw something I photographed. I really don't like colouring pencils so it turned out a bit odd. The quail is much more purple/pink than I would have ever wanted it to turn out but I'm not good with couloring pencils so.... I don't really like this picture a lot, it looks weird. especially the foot, it came out very wrong.

This was for a assignment called: still life (I think)
We had to draw a wooden mask, a wooden animal and a seed pod, all of which were place onto a cloth. I had the most fun with the mask, the wood rhino and seed pod were not as fun.

These do not look very good but I really don't like drawing with pencil or colour pencils (unless for anime) but I really like to paint. And in the past 3 years of high school art lessons I have only done one acrylic painting which I really enjoyed (I might post a pic some time later). Painting tiny details is extremely fun but in school we always have a deadline so I have to speed up a bit which usually ruins my painting somewhere.

Bulldogma your rooster looks incredible.

Nice pieces - and thank you.

I have been eyeing the bamboo pad. I want the big one but wonder if I even need it to be so big.

That's funny! LOL

I'd love to have the big one, but my desk is always so cluttered I'm not sure where I would put it... though I'm sure I could find a place! I think the big one gives a lot more ability to do fine detail without zooming in - I go down to the pixel range for things like eyes. LOL.
