Oh, about Matthew, I think Jesus was speaking to the "multitudes". Jews and Gentiles alike. Also, the Jews were God's chosen people there for a time, and enjoyed many special blessings and light because of it. Yes, there were some things that don't apply now, but those are pretty clear, like sacrifices pointing to Christ 'sacrificing' His life, so I just like to glean all I can. And of course, now we all have a chance to be part of God's 'special people'.
 
I am a 'study diligently, follow the Bible truth, all else is below God's authority' Christian :) There's melon to eat from every group, and likewise, seeds to discard. I'm with the Seventh-Day-Adventist now....pretty much as straight forward, Bible-based as they come....so far. At least my Church is, 'course different bodies tend to differ...ironically, sadly. How 'bout you?

I am an independent Baptist... I've heard about seven-day Adventist..... not sure what they believe though.... :)
 
I am a nothing.. but so far I have been attending Pentacostal churches. :p I don't believe in denominations. I have a relationship with the living God, and not the religious standards of men, but by his Grace and truth revealed through the word and conviction of the Holy Spirit. No matter what church have gone to I find things that are wrong or imperfect. and why is that? We are people.. imperfect creatures that make mistakes.. that's why we fellowship and praise God together, and let Him work in us and through us... because I tell you what "Where 2 or more gather together in My name, I am there." This is church too ;) as is any gathering of his people together anywhere. Only God is perfect and we should strive to be like him in His ways. I like 7ths day. They are so sweet :p but the last one I went to I was falling asleep *hides*

Pretty much what you believe, but are adamant about going to church on the Sabbath. And I find I like most of their doctrine, though I haven't read all their standards, they do vary as much as any denomination from church to church.

I agree about were just people... I am a Baptist because from what I've found they stick the closest to the Bible. All churches vary tho.. :)
 
I kinda like old-fashioned Baptist...particularly old-fashioned Seventh-day-Baptist.....LOL
Yea, the subject of Church and religion is always interesting. I don't believe there's anything wrong with it...organizing and coming together can often help make people more effective at evangelizing, and provides mutual support. And it's pretty clear that God is with it too, He refers to the Church as His Bride. A good symbol, I think.
 
Might add, "I think religion and Church is fine"....as long as they make the Bible their standard, which surprisingly, many claim to do so - but go away from it.
