Ooooh! What kind of eggs are they?

They told me their rooster was a silkie
And the hens were (EE), Golden Comet, Black Copper Maran (the eggs aren’t much darker than my brown egg layers), and then they said Delaware Red, but I’ve never heard that. I wonder if they messed up or I dunno. Or is that a breed?

Oh the things they “teach” kids. That a mammal comes from an egg (well platypuses do but that doesn’t count)

Maybe they meant New Hampshire red? Or Delaware crossed with RIR.

True. I'll ask them later when I update them with how many ended up being fertile and/or developing past 10 days. I'm barely on day 3 which is why I'm hopeful even if I didn't see veins in the others.

Yep. Tiny eggs. Teeny-tiny eggs!
Teeny-tiny eggs that get really big.
And then they aren't eggs.
They still really hurt when they come out, though (I assume, at least -- I haven't given birth).

Oh gotcha. They didnt want to go into the aviary . I thought you meant he was bringing them inside like the shed or house or something.

I bet seeing them huddled in the coconut was super cute but he probably didnt get a picture
