BYC Café

Good morning Cafè. Coffee is ready.

I've had to force the integration issue. Those girls weren't leaving on their own and the flock kept going in and eating all their food. So last night well after dark I gathered them up and tucked them in to the corner of the coop floor and closed all the doors to the maternity ward.

This morning at about 5:15 I went out and spread food all over the run on stumps and rocks and everywhere else that I could put a dollop of mash, then collected the three little girls and deposited them out into the run with the lights turned on.

They were shell shocked at first but eventually started scratching around and pecking at the bits of mash I tossed their way. The only hen that has joined them is Savannah. She looked at them like 'Oh, so you guys are out here now. Whatever.' And what about eating her breakfast.

I'll check them again in about a 1/2 hour when Savannah's hooligans will be out there along with most of the flock.

It's time to grow up kiddos.

Tonya, help me to solve this mistery:

How have you been able to gather them up for tossing them out without bending over?

Could all this bending and such may be the reason for your leg to still torment you so much?

Just saying... :old

Good afternoon, Café!

I brought a freshly brewed pot to share. :caf

The hooligans.
The black one is dominant. He crowed just before I got the white dingleberry recorded.

The 3MCs will quickly learn to avoid that Barny and her sister. Those 2 are hellions. They don't bow to many in the flock even though they are half their size. They gave Savannah and her boys the most trouble.

They will do so much better today learning the ropes and getting enough to eat.

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee!
I am taking my friend to 3 doc appts and then maybe shopping.
My DIL is having to put her old dog to rest today and bringing her up here to be buried next to their other dog. DH will have to dig the hole and handle the burial service. At least she is a small dog.
Anyway, I need to get rolling and I hope the Cafe has a nice day!

I am sorry, it is always very hard to let go of a beloved dog. But she is lucky to have you all at her side to help her with and through it all. ❤️
