Good afternoon Cafe!

I brought a freshly brewed pot to enjoy.

Just finished shoveling the second trailer load of horse manure into/onto the (raised) garden beds and around the apple trees. The heat is debilitating, but things need to get done anyway.

For this evening I have another batch of elderberry-apple jam planned and maybe some apple pies too.
Some hours of watering the orchard will have to be squeezed in as well.

They have yet to find me. I’ve never even gotten a letter.

A good friend of mine was called for jury duty.
She was asked by the defense attorney if she could judge his client based on his own actions and not those of the people he was with when the crime was committed.
She said, "No. We teach our children that they are accountable for their actions and if they are in the company of people who are doing something wrong, they should try to stop it and if they cannot, they need to leave and take appropriate actions to do what is right."
The defense attorney dismissed her.
The old lady sitting next to her loudly stated "I agree with HER!".
She got the boot too.

No general sense of justice wanted which would make it hard or even impossible to infuse their own twisted 'conclusions'.

I got to serve on a jury for identity theft.

I feel some times it is just the lawyers,
your occupation, or just your look.

I was called once for jury duty on a medical trial and I was dismissed very early (nurse).
