My mother-in-law got the vaccine, yet still got shingles. This was 10-15 yrs. ago though. Hopefully the vaccine has improved.Did you get the vaccine? No blame if you didn't! Hubby and I did, and if you did and still got shingles... Another thing I can worry about, I guess.

The town nearer where she lives, ~25 miles north of Asheville, also flooded, as did more than a few others in NC.
I don't expect to hear from her soon, I'm sure cell coverage has been compromised as there are widespread power outages.
