BYC Café

So you don’t get much snow where you are then?
We don't get as much lake effect snow, usually. If it's just regular snow coming down, we don't get any special treatment by Mother Nature. Wind, and wind direction have a lot to do with how much is regular snow and how much is lake effect. No wind = very little/no lake effect snow.

Ahhhh okay that makes sense

Good morning Cafe. Nice hot coffee is ready.

We didn't get home from the airport last night until 1:00. I had a rough night. That long driving and waiting in a car didn't do my leg any favors. I'm going to work from home today to avoid further irritating it by going into the plant.

I just got up for a coffee refill and watched at least 2 dozen turkeys mosey on through the woods. Working from home is not without it's perks.
'My' turkeys - started with a hen and 8 poults eating under the bird feeder, have grown into a flock of 26 - 27 if the tom joins them. They have reached the point where they come running like chickens if I throw out feed.

Good morning, second pot of coffee freshly brewed. Drank the first pot watching the girls free range - couldn't take the cold any longer, put them away, much to their chagrin, let the dogs out and made more coffee. Come have a cup.

It was 29 degrees this morning, warming up slow but the sunshine is bright under a cloudless sky. Pretty day.

VERY windy right now. The wind chimes are chiming non-stop, and the snow has blown across the entire length of the front porch.

We went out this morning and got a bag of chicken feed and filled up the gas can. We don't need to go anywhere any time soon. I'm so glad I'm not driving in to work tomorrow. We're far enough inland that we probably won't get the worst of it, but they say 3-5" for our area, and with that wind, the road could drift shut.

When I came back from lockup, it was spitting freezing rain and the windward side of the car already had a glaze.
